What is the MATRA Scholarship Program? The Scholarship Program was created under the leadership of the MATRA President at the time, John Creedon or Creedon & Co. At our 2011 Annual Conference, the Board of Directors voted to start a Scholarship Program for our Members. In 2012 we began to solicit funds and build our Scholarship Program. The goal for 2012 was $7,500 and we surpassed that goal three fold. MATRA was able to raise over $21,000 for our first year.

In 2017, the Board elected to move our Scholarship Funds over to a philanthropic and charitable fund program, the Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) who would manage the funds for MATRA. Through this 501 (c)(3) foundation, donations and disbursement will be managed by DCF. The MATRA Scholarship Committee will continue to manage the program, and the MATRA Office will continue to manage the scholarship applications and scoring process.

Again this year, MATRA  is soliciting Scholarship Applications for TWO $3,000 Scholarships to be awarded to current MATRA Members and/or their family*. 

Deadline to receive the 2018/2019 MATRA Scholarship applications and corresponding materials is Monday, April 2nd, 2018 through the DCF website.

*Eligibility of a "member” company:  The "member” company must be a current member, with dues paid in full, for a consecutive two-year period. That member may pay by the conference 2017 (which will be considered "year 1”) and then they must pay their dues by March 31, 2018 (which will be considered "year 2”) in order to have one of their member employees/family member apply for the 2018 scholarship. Applicants must be associated with a MATRA member company as one of the following: 1) a current full-time employee with the member company, 2) immediate family of a current employee of a member company or 3) a current part-time or seasonal employee of a member company who is nominated by the company.
