New Board Member - Carol Cundey, CERP
Carol Cundey, CERP, Eureka! The Tent Company
Carol Cundey, CERP, entered the industry in 1989 in event management handling large scale corporate and fundraising events. She was hooked on events after her very first fundraising Gala and pursued that area of the industry for several years. After relocating to Northeastern Pennsylvania, she joined Eureka! and has just celebrated her 20 year Anniversary with them!
During her career, Carol has worked closely with rental companies, vendors and other industry associations to help advance the tent, rental and event professions as a whole. In 2011, she received her CERP designation from the ARA. "I feel that having my CERP designation helps set me apart from others, I've taken the time to learn and grow...and I continue to do so. It affirms my commitment and passion for the industry."
Carol believes a significant change in the tenting industry revolves around safety. She says she can distinctly remember, "when set up wasn't as safety conscious as we are today, not only at MATRA but in every day work. Now, especially since tents and structures are larger, you are seeing crews in the field embracing safety (hard hats, hearing and eye protection, etc.) - setting us apart."
Carol first attended MATRA in 1990-91 when she was still employed in event production. She attended to learn about new products and network with others - specifically the "movers and shakers" in in the industry. Initially, it was a new opportunity in the New York/New Jersey/PA area. She states, "Today, MATRA is still the best place to see tent and tent-related products in use and network with the best people. As an organization, I think this is a great foundation to build on as we begin to move out of the "Mid-Atlantic" confines."
"MATRA is positioned for great things," states Carol, "not only in growth as an association, but also in the tremendous benefits it has to offer members." Her vision to continue the growth of MATRA includes serving as a member of the Marketing Committee, getting the word out about MATRA and discussing ways to branch out and position MATRA for its continued growth. She continues, "It's a super exciting time to begin my time on the Board..." She is an asset to the Board and the Marketing Committee.
We look forward to Carol's continued contributions to MATRA and we welcome her to the Board!.
